I love a good themed project, and since Valentine’s Day is next week, I’ve rounded up some love-themed patterns for you. Grab your hooks, your yarn, and let’s get started!
Love Note Crochet Pocket Pillow – Sewrella
Ashleigh’s patterns are on point every time, and this one is no exception. She used luxurious Crazy Sexy (peruvian) Wool from Wool and the Gang, but you could definitely substitute a similar weight yarn of your choice. The heart shaped pillow is adorable on its own, but there’s a little pocket on there for you and your sweetie to exchange love notes. (Or in my case, a place for my 4 year old to stuff cut up construction paper and stickers) Bonus! Ashleigh has a video tutorial on her YouTube channel to walk you through the pattern.
Sweetheart Bunny – All About Ami
Stephanie over at All About Ami has SUCH a talent for creating adorably amigurumi. First time making one? Don’t worry! Stephanie has included a link to a separate blog post with step by step photos of the pattern to walk you through it. Click the link above to get the instructions to make your own snuggly friend.
Mini Heart Pouch – Maria’s Blue Crayon
The mini hearts look is very popular right now in knitted hats. Maria has taken that fun and easy style and transformed it into a lovely crochet pouch. She’s included a video on how to attach a zipper to a crochet piece, as well as instructions on how to change the size of the pouch from the original pattern. Click the link above to make ALL the pouches.
Crochet Puffy Hearts – 5 Little Monsters
Jumping back into amigurumi for a minute, Erica at 5 Little Monsters made these super cute hearts. The best part – to change the sizes you don’t have to work a different pattern…simply change your hook size and yarn size, work the same pattern, and boom! Different sizes of hearts. I love this because you can get into a rhythm with the pattern and crank these out SO fast.
Sweetheart Boot Cuffs – Pattern Paradise
It’s still boot weather where I live, and these boot cuffs are a super simple way to accessorize. Maria has written up a quick and easy pattern, and the color possibilities are endless! Make a Valentine’s Day pair…then make a spring pair, a Halloween pair, a Thanksgiving pair, a Christmas pair…go wild!!
Heart Nesting Baskets – Blackstone Designs
I am OBSESSED with making things for my home right now! Wearables are great, amigurumi are fantastic…but there’s just *something* about making something practical that you can use every day. Sonya’s Heart Nesting Baskets are such a cute accessory! 3 different sizes, SO many possibilities. Make them all, make two, make a million of your favorite size. Most importantly, fill them with your favorite candy.
Madly In Love Cowl – Moogly Blog
Tamara used super soft superwash merino yarn to make this intricate cowl, but you can substitute your favorite DK weight yarn, too. Don’t be intimidated by the pattern – there are video tutorial links for the tricky parts. There are also links to coordinating hat and fingerless mitt patterns so you can make a whole set! My favorite part is the buttons – this is where you can really get creative and make this piece your own.
